Winding through the sand and sage of the natural, central Washington desert, along the Columbia River is a beautifully groomed, 18-hole golf course known as Desert Aire. Ranked as one of the highest rated public courses in the region, the front nine opened in 1972, followed nineteen years later with the completion of the back nine in 1993.
The layout demands a premium on shot-making and putting, rewarding players who manage their game around the penalties awaiting overly aggressive golfers. Recent redesigns of the course by Dan Hixon, who is best known for course designs at Bandon Crossings and Wine Valley Golf Club.
Desert Aire is the recipient of accolades from Golf Digest, Northwest Golfer Magazine, Washington Golf Guide, and the Central Washington PGA.
Offering a driving range and practice green, with a full-service pro shop for club-fitting, club repair, apparel, equipment, golf cart storage and concessions. A relaxed approach for teaching the game to residents and visitors of all ages and skill levels has been successful over the years. Year-round access to individual or customized lesson packages is available for the beginner to the advanced golfer, with summer offering the popular Junior Golf Camps.
